Description

We are seeking for an enthusiastic, customer-oriented GC and GC/MS Product Specialist / Application Engineer for our German organization

In this role:

  • You will be accountable for the GC and GC/MS results in Germany

  • You will be measured by the GC and GC/MS business results in your area of responsibility and your work must secure GC/GCMS product penetration into the Life Sciences, Academia and Applied Markets

  • Working with your local peers, you will lead all pre-sales business development activities in your country

  • You will interface with the German Sales Team, European marketing & sales group, Application specialists and factory teams within Agilent


  • Your Main responsibilities include:

  • Actively participate in pre-sales business development activities both virtual and on customer site

  • Developing the GC and GC/MS business and related workflows by supporting all sales channels to ultimately closing orders and keep a motivated and a well-trained sales force

  • Maintain close relationship with Agilent key accounts and develop a network of key collaborators and partners that help business growth

  • Developing GC and GC/MS funnel and having a clear view of the competitive environment in Germany by the use of internal tools

  • Support all GC and GC/MS related marketing activities and actively develop/engage/propose marketing initiatives at local level

  • Team work with other areas of the business establishing partnership and working together with the software, liquid phase or service Agilent team with a clear business and workflow commercialization focus.

  • Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will already have a comprehensive understanding of the GC and GCMS technologies and applications

  • Good understanding of the GC/GCMS business in Germany/Europe and will have no problems articulating how to further strengthen Agilent's position in this competitive market.

  • Being fluent in German and English is a must

  • Experience of selling GC and GCMS Solutions into the main Life Sciences and Applied Markets will be an important plus.

  • Previous Experience and Background

  • PhD, Master and/or University Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Natural Science or equivalent qualification.

  • In-depth knowledge on gas chromatography (GC, main GC detectors, samplers) and mass spectrometry techniques (EI/CI, single quadrupole, triple quadrupole, TOF/QTOF etc) including sample preparation and a strong application background.

  • Good knowledge of the Agilent SW platforms: Chemstation, OpenLab and especially Mass Hunter Quant/Qual with validation experience and notions of statistical analysis and Chemometrics

  • Good understanding of the GC and MS technologies and application workflows and needs in target markets (e. g. Food Analysis/Safety, Environmental, Forensics & Toxicology, Metabolomics, Clinical, Pharma, Omics Science).

  • 3+ years hands-on experience with GC and GCMS, preferably in a customer facing role or during University studies is a must
