Looking for a dedicated individual to join our Health, Safety & Environment team as a Health & Safety Specialist (m/f/d) — someone who brings passion and foresight to actively shape and strengthen the safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic safety management: Ensure compliance with legal requirements, develop internal safety standards, and integrate emerging trends.
- Risk mitigation: Conduct risk assessments, analyse incidents, and implement appropriate preventive measures.
- Training & support: Deliver targeted safety training and awareness sessions for employees and managers.
- Internal & external collaboration: Liaise with authorities, trade associations, and internal departments to ensure full compliance with all safety-related regulations.
- Strengthening the safety culture: Contribute to the proactive development of a modern safety strategy and promote a sustainable safety mindset across the company.
- Audits & inspections: Support and conduct safety audits and inspections, and coordinate with the relevant external regulatory bodies.
- Process optimisation: Continuously improve safety procedures and introduce new initiatives to prevent workplace accidents.
Requirements:
- Education: Completed technical vocational training or a degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable field is a plus.
- Certifications: Recognised qualification as a Safety Specialist in accordance with §7 ASiG.
- Experience: Practical experience in conducting risk assessments, safety management, and accident analysis.
- Industry background: Ideally, professional experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant safety regulations (e.g. Workplace Ordinance, Equipment Safety Ordinance, DGUV standards).
- Stakeholder coordination: Experience in working with authorities, trade associations, and external inspection bodies.
- Personal skills: Strong communication, initiative, and the ability to work independently and assertively.
