Our client is a VC backed B2B SaaS company, on a mission to transform how organizations manage risk and compliance, using cutting-edge technology and AI to automate and enhance governance workflows. Backed by strong funding and led by a proven team, they’re building a platform that redefines how businesses handle compliance in a digital-first world.

They’re now seeking a talented and driven AI Engineer to join their team and take the lead on the design and implementation of intelligent systems that drive automation, efficiency, and insight across the platform. The ideal candidate will combine strong software engineering skills with a passion for building practical AI solutions in real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Take ownership of end-to-end design and development of AI-powered features, ensuring performance, observability, and scalability from the outset.
• Intelligent Systems Development: Build and refine agent-like systems, integrating with vector search and document retrieval frameworks to support dynamic, user-driven workflows.
• Hands-On Architecture: Lead on the architecture, lifecycle, and deployment of AI features, from prototyping through to production and beyond.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to translate requirements into robust, efficient AI features that directly enhance user experience.
• Operational Excellence: Champion quality, security, and reliability throughout the AI stack, ensuring all systems comply with internal InfoSec and data privacy requirements.
• Tooling & Innovation: Contribute to the internal toolset that supports AI development velocity and stay abreast of advances in LLMs, vector databases, and agent frameworks — bringing practical ideas into the product.
• Best Practices: Drive performance optimization, cost control, robust fallback strategies, and strong test coverage in AI feature design.

• Languages & Frameworks: Python (core AI), TypeScript, LangChain, LlamaIndex
• Infrastructure & DevOps: AWS, Azure OpenAI, Terraform, Temporal
• Data & Search: pgvector, semantic search libraries
• Application Layer: NodeJS, GraphQL, monorepo setup

Ideal Candidate Profile

• AI Application Expertise: Strong experience designing and deploying AI/LLM-based features in production, ideally in high-compliance or data-sensitive industries.
• Deep Technical Acumen: Skilled in RAG pipelines, vector search integration, prompt engineering, and constructing advanced LLM-driven workflows.
• Well-Rounded Engineer: Strong background in both backend development and AI/ML integration, with fluency in Python and TypeScript.
• Quality-Focused: Brings rigor to engineering through TDD, CI/CD, detailed documentation, and clean architecture.
• Cross-Functional Communicator: Able to explain complex systems to non-technical stakeholders and align technical execution with product goals.
• Mentorship & Growth: Ideally brings experience mentoring others and contributing to the technical direction of teams or projects.
