JOB CONTEXT
Hesse Consulting Group (HCG) is seeking a dynamic Director of Commercial Growth to drive our sales excellence. This role is instrumental in achieving our Strategy 2025-2030 by leading a high-performing sales function and expanding our sales capabilities to meet evolving client needs and market trends.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Sales Leadership, developing and executing strategies that drive HCG’s growth, aligning with business priorities and market opportunities.
Over time the role will additionally include the product ownership of our sales capability related services, heading our respective Product Innovation, owning and advancing HCG’s sales capabilities portfolio, ensuring alignment with industry trends and client demands.

Beyond sales leadership, this role contributes practitioner insights to the development of HCG’s sales capability portfolio, ensuring alignment with market needs and supporting product positioning.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Strategy and Commercial Growth
- Develop our sales strategy in close collaboration with the leadership team, aligned with HCG’s revenue and profitability goals.
- Lead the effective execution of the sales strategy.
- Drive team sales performance through leadership, collaboration, and a structured incentive model, balancing between personal and team sales contributions to drive collective performance.
- Identify growth opportunities in existing accounts and new markets using data-driven insights.
- Define and refine sales processes, pipelines, and KPIs to maximise efficiency and results.
Beyond sales leadership, this role contributes practitioner insights to the development of HCG’s sales capability portfolio, ensuring alignment with market needs and supporting product positioning.
Key Account Management
- Leading by example through effective management of Key Accounts.
- Partner with the CEO, COO, and key account teams to align and steer sales activities.
- Engage with key clients to ensure satisfaction, identify additional needs, and foster long-term partnerships.
- Drive short-term sales results while simultaneously developing long-term sales capabilities, including talent development, strategic partnerships, and technology integration
- This role requires a strong presence in key client markets, which include in-person engagements to strengthen relationships and drive sales.
Sales Performance Reporting
- Monitor and report on sales performance metrics and product profitability.
- Establish and manage budgets for sales operations and product development initiatives.
Leadership and Culture
- Lead by example, embodying HCG’s core values of Client-centric, Result-driven, Teamwork, Trust, Strength through diversity and Simplicity.
- Mentor and develop team members, cultivating a culture of empowerment, continuous growth and improvement.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless delivery of client solutions.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales Management, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of 8-10 years in senior sales leadership roles with experience in product management or training solutions.
- Proven track record of achieving sales growth and successfully developing solution portfolios.
- Familiar with CRM tools such as Salesforce, PipeDrive, Copper etc.
