Senior Perception Engineer (Autonomous Valet Parking – Level 4)Location: Ludwigsfelde / Berlin (3 days onsite) │ Type : Full-time, permanent

The missionHelp us to improve our perception stack end-to-end. From first paper-napkin idea to production release inside 24 × 7 depots worldwide.
What you will do• Design, build and maintain parts of the perception pipeline for AVP Type 2 (sensor fusion, detection, tracking, freespace, ..).• Push the code and validate it on our private track and customer sites.• Hunt down edge cases: dig through logs, crunch data, simulate, repeat.• Lead by example: create clear docs, robust tests and deployment scripts.• Influence architecture decisions across perception and the entire technology stack.What you bring• 5+ years delivering production-grade perception or robotics systems.• Fluency in modern Python (Rust a plus) and a knack for clean, testable code.• Hands-on experience with LiDAR, vision algorithms and inference (OpenCV, TensorRT, CUDA, Open3D, etc.).• Ownership attitude: you take responsibility from research to release.Extra credit• Rust chops.• Exposure to safety-critical SW.• Multi-sensor calibration wizardry.Why you’ll love it• Impact: your code literally moves vehicles—today, not “someday.”• Resources + agility: small elite team backed by Ford’s global muscle.• Continuous learning budget (ML/CV conferences, German classes, driver’s license support).• BahnCard 50 also suitable for private traveling• Nationwide gym membership.• Hybrid work (2 days remote); spacious lab & test track in Ludwigsfelde.• Flat hierarchy, zero politics, exceptionally friendly colleagues.
