New Leadership Role in Industrial Software Engineering – South Germany

Senior Software Project Engineer

South Germany (Hybrid: 2–3 days onsite at customer site, rest from home)

€80K–€90K + company car

I’m hiring on behalf of a global pioneer in industrial automation—a company known for its cutting-edge technology across robotics, motion control, vision, and software. They’ve just created a brand-new role within their DACH software team to support one of their biggest customers in Europe, DMG Mori.

This is a strategic role sitting between the customer and the internal software development team. You’ll gather requirements, define specifications, and oversee the technical delivery of automation software projects—spanning both high-level C# applications and PLC programming.

What makes this role different?

• You’ll lead customer-facing discussions and translate real-world requirements into project plans and technical specs
• You’ll supervise the work of a skilled software team (no direct reports, but you'll guide project execution)
• You’ll be deeply involved in both C#/.NET development and PLC-based automation (IEC61131-3, motion, safety)
• You’ll take ownership of project management: timelines, resourcing, coordination, and quality delivery

What we’re looking for:

• Fluent/native German, plus solid English skills for internal coordination
• Strong background in both software development (C#) and industrial automation (PLC, motion control)
• Project coordination experience—ideally in a customer-facing role
• Based in the South of Germany with willingness to be onsite 2–3 days/week
