Azure Solutions Architect (m/f/d) – FreelanceAs an experienced Azure expert, you take ownership of the cloud architecture for a new B2B customer portal built for a leading European distributor of electronic components. At the heart of the portal is the "Digital FAE", a RAG-based AI assistant. You make sure the Azure platform is secure, cost-efficient, scalable, and ready for international rollout. The project starts immediately, by January 2027 at the latest – the term is 12 months with an extension option, at a workload of 50–100%.Your TasksAdvise on and evolve the Azure target architecture and landing zone according to the Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption FrameworksDesign a secure network architecture with Azure Front Door, WAF, Private Endpoints, and a hub-and-spoke topologyDevelop multi-region, backup, and disaster recovery concepts for the international rolloutCost-efficient scaling and FinOps – from autoscaling to Azure Cost ManagementDesign identity, security, and compliance concepts with Entra ID, Key Vault, and Defender for CloudBuild and optimize Infrastructure as Code (Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines across all environmentsDefine monitoring and operations concepts for go-live, including integration with Data Lake and SAP S/4HANAWork closely with the customer's IT team and transfer knowledge to the development teamYour ProfileMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or comparable qualificationSeveral years of hands-on experience designing and implementing Azure solutions in enterprise environmentsSolid knowledge of the Azure Well-Architected Framework and the Cloud Adoption FrameworkExperience with Bicep or ARM and CI/CD-based infrastructure deploymentsStrong expertise in Azure networking and security, multi-region architectures, and cost optimizationExperience with B2B portals, SAP integration, container workloads, or EU regulations (GDPR, CRA, EU AI Act) is a plusIndependent way of working and confident presence with the customer's IT stakeholdersVery good German and English skills for day-to-day project workWhat We OfferA strategically important, highly visible project at the intersection of cloud, AI, and international rolloutFlexible working hours and hybrid work – coordinated with the team and customer appointmentsCollaboration with more than 60 experts in AI, software, and consultingModern office in Leonberg with good transport linksFlat hierarchies, short decision paths, and a collegial working atmosphereQuestions About the Application ProcessEverything about your application at COMIHow does the application process work?After receiving your application, we carefully review your documents.
