This role involves designing and implementing server-side applications, APIs, and infrastructure that power our products and services.Your missionSystem Design & ArchitectureDesign and implement scalable backend architecturesBuild and maintain RESTful APIsOptimize database queries and data structuresImplement performance optimizations and caching strategiesDevelopment & ImplementationWrite clean, maintainable, and efficient codeDevelop and integrate third-party APIs and servicesImplement authentication and authorization systemsBuild data processing pipelines and background jobsDatabase ManagementDesign and optimize database schemasImplement data migration strategiesEnsure data consistency and integrityMonitor and optimize database performanceInfrastructureDeploy and manage applications in cloud environmentsImplement CI/CD pipelines and automated testingMonitor system performance and troubleshoot issuesEnsure security best practices and complianceCollaboration & QualityWork closely with frontend developers, product managers, and designersParticipate in code reviews and maintain code quality standardsWrite comprehensive technical documentationYour backgroundEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fieldOR equivalent work experience with strong technical portfolio5+ years of backend development experienceExperience with testing frameworks (unit, integration, end-to-end)Experience with performance testing and optimizationTechnical SkillsProgramming Languages: TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js (primary stack)Web Frameworks: Express.js, React (for full-stack capabilities)Databases: MongoDB (primary), Redis for cachingCloud Platforms: AWS, GCPContainerization: Docker, Kubernetes (K8s)Version Control: Git, GitHub/GitLabSystem Design & ArchitectureUnderstanding of distributed systems conceptsKnowledge of caching strategies (Redis, Memcached)Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka)Understanding of load balancing and scaling strategiesAPI DevelopmentExperience designing and implementing RESTful APIsUnderstanding of API security and authentication (JWT, OAuth)Experience with API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman)Soft SkillStrong problem-solving and analytical abilitiesExcellent debugging and troubleshooting skillsGood communication and teamwork abilitiesAbility to work in agile development environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience with event-driven architectureExperience with monitoring and logging tools (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana)Knowledge of machine learning integration and data pipelinesFamiliarity with search engines (Elasticsearch, Solr)Mobile Development: React Native, Expo (bonus for cross-platform understanding)Please note that you must have the legal right to live and work in the European Union (EU).
